So how do you make street swagger spot on? Simple, add some polka dots! This playful pattern has come a long way since we were kids. Polka dots are being added to stylish pieces such as mini skirts, high heels, and handbags. And, of course, off the shoulder blouses like I’m wearing here!
The spotted pattern on the blouse I’m wearing is actually a star print (look closely!). This was the initial reason why I purchased it…I loved the starry nights print. However, as I began wearing it, I realized I’d found a new appreciation for polka dots in my adulthood. It didn’t feel silly or juvenile to wear polka dots. It just felt fun and inviting!
Some people may pair this blouse with a flowy skirt or slacks. Which is totally fine! For me, however, I can only do one girly piece at a time. So I decided to pair this adorable blouse with my favorite pair of distressed black jeans. If you don’t own a pair of distressed jeans, think about getting some asap. I predict they will be in style for at least a few more years to come. The pair I’m wearing here are a slouchy/boyfriend fit. However, its great to have a pair of distressed skinny black jeans as well, which would go equally as well with this outfit.
For my shoes and accessories, I went with a wedge sandal. Wedges are in plethora this spring season so you shouldn’t have any trouble finding a pair you love. And, of course, a bandana around the neck. As you’ve noticed in my past several posts, I’m super into bandanas and scarves right now ;-). I decided to tie this one on backwards, knotting at the back of my neck. It gave a cleaner look to the front of this pretty blouse. Always play with your bandanas and scarves. If you decide to tie them or leave them loose, anything is acceptable.
Happy May Days Everyone! xoxo
