Revealing my softer side in this “Pretty in Pink” ensemble. Pink and blush tones are wildly popular for this spring’s fashion and I’m personally having so much fun with it! Pink tones are such a great way to freshen up your look while giving you a feminine edge. It’s also fun to mix different shades of pink. Don’t get too worried about the shades matching up perfectly. Slightly unmatched shades will give the look depth and interest. The pants I’m wearing here are a few shades darker than the trench coat. But, hey, it still works! I chose to wear an ivory color top under the coat to help break up the color a bit but still keep the look soft. This silk, double strap, v-neck cami gives the perfect feminine touch ;-). If you don’t own a trench coat, you should definitely consider getting one to keep as a staple in your closet. A neutral/nude color is usually best as it goes with everything. But if you want to take a walk on the trendy side, give this pink one a try!
By the way, if you haven’t gotten yourself a peg-leg trouser for the season, now is the perfect time. The trend is hot, hot, hot! A peg-leg trouser is an easy look for so many different occasions. You can wear them to business meetings, dinner with a client, family outings, and drinks with the girls. The key is knowing where the hemline should hit on the leg. A rule of thumb is keep this style just above the ankle bone. If you’re tall, this is an easy look for you. However, if you’re on the shorter side like me, try to find a peg-leg trouser in a “petite” as the inseam will be shorter. Otherwise, just have them hemmed to just above the ankle bone. Also, this pant style is worn much better with high heels. So ditch the flats for this one ladies!
Ok, now for the shoes…oh how much I love these! In my book, any nude colored heel that makes your legs look super long AND has a leather tie strap is a definite winner. And the best part, these were pretty inexpensive! See below for product details.
These photos were taken in one of my favorite areas of Atlanta. Inman Park is a super cool, hipster, artsy neighborhood that immediately makes you feel like you’re cooler than you really are haha! This graffiti tunnel is part of the Atlanta Beltline, an old railway corridor that is now a biking and walking trail traveling through the core of the city. If you’re ever in Atlanta, check it out. You can go for a bike ride around the city with your friends while stopping off at different spots for some great southern food or a cocktail. You’ll love it!
