I never thought I’d find myself in another pair of overalls. But…here I am…throwing it back to my high school days! The only thing missing is the matching bow in my hair (yep, I was that girl!). Minus the hair bow, I’ve fallen in love with overalls again and enjoy wearing them on weekends when I’m running crazy amounts of errands. And, with overalls being back in the spotlight on style trends, the key is to pair them with a top and accessories that don’t make you look like Farmer Ted!
For this particular look, I chose to pair these denim cuties with an oxblood colored crop top. First, because I’m obsessed with crop tops and find they add edge to just about any look. Second, because oxblood is a very strong color trend for fall. Even though I love red tones, they typically aren’t my color. However, I find that oxblood, with its burgundy undertones, looks great on so many different skin tones.
Another shirting option for overalls is the ever so popular “off the shoulder” top. I pair these two trends together often and always get compliments! By pairing with an off the shoulder top, you’re giving this look a trendy and feminine vibe…no farming allowed! A basic tank top also works really well with overalls. Just be sure to load up on bracelets or necklaces to add a bit more style to this basic outfit. And, when the weather cools down, throw on your favorite leather jacket to transition this look into “cool girl” mode 😉
The shoe I’m wearing here is a platform sandal. I feel its super important to pair overalls with some type of high heel. Otherwise, the look can get a bit frumpy! Wear this style with your favorite high heel, pointed toe bootie, or open toe platform sandal. Whatever you choose, just be sure to give yourself a little extra height!
