Because I’m an 80’s baby, I always find myself styling outfits with just a hint of 80’s fashion. Whether it’s distressed denim…a concert tee…or stacks of bracelets, my beloved 80’s fashion always finds it’s way into my wardrobe. And because we’re finally reaching another exciting era in fashion, we can push the envelope a bit when it comes to styling fun and inspiring looks. Sooooo, with that being said, I decided to use more than just a hint of 80’s fashion with this look.
Sure, I could have thrown on a pair of boring black tights with this denim skirt on a winter day…but, why would I do that?!?! The boring black tights would have been a huge injustice to my rocker concert tee and metal statement necklace. So there I was, out with the boring and in with the fishnets! Man, did it feel good to pull these babies out! 80’s baby was “Back in Black!”
However, as to not scare the neighbors, I threw on a twill boyfriend blazer to tone things down a bit. The blazer ended up being my favorite part of this look actually. It managed to tie everything together. Giving this 80’s look a modern spin.
When accessorizing a statement outfit of this sort, remember to keep your accessories minimal. Apart from the few bracelets and rings I wear EVERY SINGLE DAY, I wanted the focus to be on my favorite metal necklace. All you need to do next is grab your favorite black sunnies, a simple clutch handbag, a pair of solid black boots, and you’re good to go!
Btw, I typically wear boots that are slouchy and hit around my mid-calf. I’m a small human so this style of boot usually works best for me when trying to elongate my legs. The pair I’m wearing here are a brand called Naughty Monkey. This exact style is no longer available sadly. However, you should definitely give the new styles a look! Naughty Monkey has some of the coolest styles with a great price point. And they’re comfy!!! Can’t beat that 😉
